Stop Loss on the Stockbit platform lacked flexibility for dynamic market movements. Users needed a way to secure profits without constant monitoring.

To ensure our Trailing Stop feature provided a superior user experience, we conducted a comparative analysis of similar offerings from both global and local trading platforms. Our evaluation focused on clarity of setup, degree of control, and user guidance.

Order Type Selection

Order Type Selection

To improve usability, we introduced a tabbed selection layout (right), placing the active order type "Limit Order" next to a clearly labeled "Order Type" menu, making it easier for users to:

  • Understand that multiple order types are available

  • Switch between them without deep navigation

  • Gain confidence when selecting advanced tools like Trailing Stop

Visual Explanation for Trailing Stop Logic

Visual Explanation for Trailing Stop Logic

One of the biggest challenges in introducing Trailing Stop to Stockbit users was building trust in an automated sell mechanism — especially among users who are unfamiliar with trading terminology.

To address this, we designed a visual-first explanation screen that activates when users select "Trailing Stop" from the order type menu.

We visualized the Trailing Stop logic using a simple, illustrative line chart:

Shows how the stop price trails the stock price peak

Clearly indicates when the sell order will be triggered

Trailing Stop Setup

Trailing Stop Setup

After introducing Trailing Stop as a feature, the next critical UX challenge was designing an input interface that balances flexibility, real-time feedback, and clarity — especially for users who may not be familiar with advanced trading tools.

  • Inline Controls: Users can directly adjust “Lot” and “Trail Percentage” with +/- buttons for fine-tuning

  • Initial Stop Price Calculation: Automatically shown based on the current market price and trailing percentage

  • Est. P&L & Proceeds: Offers transparency on potential profit or loss even before submission

  • Expiry Setting: Defaults to “Good Till Cancelled,” matching expected behavior for auto-trading
